Once upon a time, director Ram Gopal Varma who has directed many popular movies including the Suriya starrer Raktha Charitra was known for his films, but these days he's in news just for his controversial tweets. Now RGV is in trouble with his tweet that degrades women buying liquor.
Ram Gopal Varma had shared a photo of people standing in a queue at a wine Shop, and pointing at women standing in the queue, he made a sexist tweet “Look who’s in line at the wine shops ..So much for protecting women against drunk men.”
This insensitive tweet of Ram Gopal Varma shaming women caught the attention of many, and singer Sona Mohapatra gave a fitting reply to him tweeting “Dear Mr RGV,time for u to get into the line of people who desperately need a real education.1 that lets u understand why this tweet of yours reeks of sexism & misplaced morality.Women have a right to buy & consume alcohol just like men. No one has the right to be drunk & violent.”
