Rajini signs next movie after ‘Annaathe’?

Superstar Rajinikanth’s one word is enough to make trending news for days together and on Thursday he was again trending after hinting that he might not make the much anticipated political entry in November as announced earlier.  He had confirmed that an anonymous letter that was doing the rounds claiming that his immunity is low due to kidney transplants and doctors advised him not to enter politics is true.

While those who want the Thalaivar in politics may be disappointed mightily, there seems to be good news coming in for those who love him as an entertainer.  According to industry sources Rajini has signed his 169th film for Sun Pictures who are also producing his current film ‘Annaathe’.

Earlier it was planned that ‘Thalaivar 169’ would be produced by Kamal Haasan and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and the shooting was set to begin in August this year but the COVID 19 pandemic played spoilsport to this rare combo.  Now Kamal is acting in the role designed for Rajini in ‘Kamal Haasaan 232’.

As of now its not clear who is going to direct ‘Thalaivar 169’ but the same sources say its going to be a young director with a trendy subject.   We have to take this news with a pinch of salt till the official announcement comes.

 ‘Annaathe’ meanwhile is expected to resume shooting in a couple of months time.  The film directed by Siruthai Siva has Rajini, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanathara, Meena and Soori in the cast.
