Tamil cinema stars dominated the 68th National Film Awards. Kollywood films walked away with a total of 10 awards as the results were announced yesterday. While 'Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum' bagged three and 'Mandela' bagged a couple, Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' bagged five awards.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and the entire film fraternity took social media to shower wishes on the winners. Now, the latest is that Tamil cinema's pioneers Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan congratulated the National Award winners through their Twitter handles.

Superstar Rajinikanth's post in Tamil roughly translates to, "My heartiest congratulations and appreciation to all the award-winning filmmakers and award-winning filmmakers including actor Suriya and 'Soorarai Pottru' director." (sic)

Kamal Haasan posted in Tamil as well, which translates to, "Proud that 'Soorarai Pottru' has bagged 5 National Awards. Bagging a total of 10 awards, with 'Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum', 'Mandela' and others have made the country take notice of the Tamil film industry. My heartiest congratulations to all the awardees." (sic)
