Swathi Reddy made a huge impact on her Tamil movie debut 'Subramaniapuram' hailed as a cult classic in Tamil cinema. She played the role of Thulasi a rich village girl who falls for a budding gangster played by Jai. The film was produced and directed by Sasikumar who also played a pivotal character.

Swathi went on to star as the female lead in many other films in Tamil and Telugu before falling in love with a pilot Vikas Vasu and tying the knot in 2018. Tollywood media has reported that Swathi has now returned to her hometown Hyderabad from Indonesia where she lived with her husband after marriage. She is now said to be open to film offers and has already signed a web series.
