Teja Sajja Returns to the Zombie World with ‘Zombie Reddy 2 NXT LVL’

After delivering back-to-back blockbusters like HanuMan and Mirai, superhero star Teja Sajjaa is all set to return to the zombie universe. On the occasion of Teja Sajjaa’s birthday, the makers officially announced the second installment of the popular Zombie Reddy franchise, titled ‘Zombie Reddy 2 Next Level – Dead Or Alive’.
Director Prasanth Varma, who introduced the zombie genre to Telugu cinema with Zombie Reddy, is serving as the creator of the sequel, while Suparn S. Varma is directing the film. Known for his work on OTT projects such as Haq, Rana Naidu and The Family Man 2, Suparn S. Varma is set to present the zombie world on a much bigger and more intense scale this time.
The film is being produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. It marks Teja Sajjaa’s next collaboration with the production house after Mirai. Real Star Upendra will be seen in a key role, while Bollywood actress Shanaya Kapoor is making her Telugu debut with the film.
High-Impact Title Glimpse
The makers unveiled an intriguing title glimpse that offers a glimpse into the scale and ambition of the sequel. Presented entirely in reverse order, the video also begins with a clear statement that no artificial intelligence was used in its creation.
The glimpse opens with a zombie falling from a flyover onto a truck, accompanied by the caption “Zombies are back.” The sequence then reveals that the zombie had fallen from the car driven by the protagonist, with other zombies immediately attacking it.
The action then shifts to the iconic Charminar. Teja Sajjaa is seen standing on top of a car with a baseball bat in hand, taking on a massive horde of zombies. As he declares, “This time, next level,” the title Zombie Reddy 2 Next Level is revealed.
The title logo, designed in the style of a video-game joystick with a zombie hand, adds another interesting touch to the promotional video.
From the glimpse, the sequel promises to take the zombie universe to a much larger scale, with bigger action sequences, enhanced visuals and a more intense presentation. The film appears to be aiming for a bigger, badder and bloodier experience than its predecessor.
Strong Technical Team
GowraHari, who previously collaborated with Teja Sajjaa on HanuMan and Mirai, is composing the music for the film. The glimpse features an energetic musical score that blends Telangana folk elements with rock sounds and zombie-themed sound design.
Abhinandhan Ramanujam is handling the cinematography, while Banglan serves as the production designer and Vijay Velukutty is the editor.
The screenplay is penned by Hussain Dalal, Abbas Dalal, Prasanth Varma and Suparn S. Varma, with dialogues written by Subbu K.
With its ambitious scale, zombie-driven action and an impressive technical team, ‘Zombie Reddy 2 Next Level – Dead Or Alive’ is shaping up to be a much bigger and more intense sequel.
The film is scheduled to release in 2027 across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Nepali and Japanese languages.
