DMK’s working president M.K. Stalin is to embark on a State-wide tour to meet people and party cadres across all the Districts.
Billed as a ‘tour of rejuvenation’, the itinerary of the tour is being drawn up and party sources at party’s headquarters ‘Anna Arivalayam’ in Chennai said that the proposed tour won’t be dissimilar in nature to the Namakku Naame tour undertaken by Stalin prior to last year’s Assembly polls.
The Namakku Naame tour gave Stalin a clear overview about the expectations and needs of the people and party cadres in various Districts which formed the basis for his pre-election speeches during election campaigns and in making pre-poll promises. The tour proved to be a successful idea as the DMK came close to upsetting the ruling AIADMK’s apple-cart during last May’s Assembly polls.
Speaking to newsmen in ‘Anna Arivalayam’ yesterday, Stalin said that he would once again be touring the State, for the second time in two years, mainly to apprise people across the State of the ills of continuing with the present OPS-EPS led AIADMK regime. The tour might commence in the first week of November in all probability, he hinted and added that the final itinerary would be revealed in a day or two.
