Veteran actor VK Naresh, celebrated for his enduring contributions to the film industry, recently marked an illustrious milestone, completing an impressive 50 years in the field. Commencing his journey as a child actor in the iconic film "Pandanti Kapuram," Naresh has evolved into a versatile performer, seamlessly portraying diverse roles as both a hero and a villain. As he reached this significant juncture, Naresh, whose acting prowess mirrors that of his illustrious mother Vijayanirmala, coincidentally celebrated his birthday on January 20. On this momentous occasion, Naresh engaged with the media, reflecting on his cinematic journey thus far.
During the press interaction, Naresh shared insights into his early days in the industry and the emotional connection he shares with his mother. Expressing gratitude for the love of the audience, he humbly acknowledged that every opportunity as an actor contributed to his remarkable 50-year career. Naresh affirmed his unwavering commitment to the film industry, pledging to serve it until his last breath. Fondly recalling his upbringing in the presence of luminaries like Superstar Krishna and the makeup room of Kannathalli Vijayanirmala, Naresh highlighted the unique blend of experiences that shaped his career.
Delving into his cinematic debut, Naresh reminisced, "I made my debut at the age of nine with an amazing film like 'Pandanti Kapuram.' It is said that those who start as child actors cannot succeed as heroes. I had this fear, but I didn't dwell on it much." Revealing a pivotal moment in his life, Naresh shared that he failed in class 10 because of his passion for acting in movies. He credited Jandhyala's directorial venture, 'Narugu Sambhalata,' as the catalyst that propelled his illustrious career forward.
Naresh expressed gratitude for the invaluable experiences gained while collaborating with industry legends like Jandhyala, Vijayanirmala, Vishwanath, Bapuramana, EVV Satyanarayana, Vamsi, and Relangi Narasimha Rao during his initial phase. He emphasized his commitment to exploring new dimensions in each film and avoiding compromises in his choice of roles. While expressing a tinge of disappointment for not being able to do certain films he desired, Naresh affirmed his determination to embrace adventures in both professional and personal realms.
Reflecting on his career's second phase, Naresh acknowledged that it rejuvenated with movies like 'Mee Shreyobhilashi,' 'Guntur Talkies,' and 'Drishyasam.' He expressed happiness at achieving the rare feat of spending 50 years in the industry, particularly in times when a decade-long career is considered remarkable.
In a poignant moment, Naresh paid tribute to the late Superstar Krishna and Vijayanirmala, recalling the joyous atmosphere they created in their home. Sharing his concern for the Telugu film industry, Naresh emphasized the need for the revival of the Nandi awards tradition, expressing disappointment in the awards' non-presentation by the government.
Addressing his son Naveen's entry into the industry, Naresh expressed optimism about his son's future as a director. He also revealed his eagerness to explore villainous roles and announced an upcoming project under the auspices of Vijaya Krishna Green Studios.
In a separate note, Naresh expressed enthusiasm for the much-anticipated collaboration between Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli, anticipating that their combined effort would elevate the Telugu film industry to new heights. The film, tentatively titled SSMB29, is projected as a globe-trotting action adventure, with KL Narayana producing it under the banner of Durga Arts.
