At CinemaCon 2026, Indian cinema made a strong global statement, with Yash emerging as one of the biggest highlights. The “Rocking Star” offered intriguing insights into his much-anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups, presenting it as a bold and unconventional take on the gangster genre.
Speaking at the event alongside Namit Malhotra, Yash revealed that Toxic is not just a typical action-driven gangster film but a deeply layered narrative. He shared that the film has also been shot in English, marking a significant step towards reaching a global audience. According to him, while the film may appear like a conventional gangster story on the surface, it dives much deeper into psychology and human emotions, offering a unique portrayal of a dark character.
Yash also expressed his excitement about collaborating with director Geetu Mohandas, praising her for bringing a fresh perspective to the genre. He highlighted that the film combines strong technical craftsmanship with impactful storytelling, promising not just visual grandeur but also a lasting psychological impact on audiences.

Reflecting on the broader evolution of Indian cinema, Yash described India as a culturally diverse landscape where language and storytelling vary across regions. He noted that dubbing and pan-India narratives have helped bridge these gaps, allowing films to connect with audiences nationwide and beyond. In that context, he positioned Toxic as a film rooted in Indian sensibilities yet crafted for global appeal.
Backed by Monster Mind Creations and KVN Productions, and featuring a star-studded cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, the film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
