BJP MLA Ram Kadam had posted on social media ""Sonali Bendre, the actress who ruled Hindi and Marathi cinema was to all, and is no more." (translated from Marathi). Later when it was known that it was a false news the politician was heavily trolled on the internet. Kadam had immediately clarified "About Sonali Bendre ji It was rumour . Since last two days .. I pray to God for her good health & speedy recovery".

Ram Kadam was recently in the news when he spoke in a public meeting promising the youth that they can approach him if they love any girl and if parents (of the boy) agree he would kidnap the girl and get them married.

Sonali Bendre who has starred in the Taml films 'Bombay', 'Kannodu Kanbathellam' and 'Kadhalar Dhinam' has also acted with top Bollywood heroes in several Hindi films. She announced in July that she was suffering from metastatic cancer and is currently undergoing treatment in the US.
