Sita: A heroine-centric film ignoring hero?

'Sita' is one of those scripts that gives wide space to its heroine. The titular role is played by Kajal Aggarwal, a star actress who has acted opposite almost all big names.

The buzz is that director Teja wrote the script as a heroine-centric film. Quite a few heroes rejected the script because of this reason. Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, who is known for out-and-out commercial films, lapped it up for reasons best known to him.

The promotional material and even posters have been elevating Kajal at the cost of sidelining Bellamkonda. Whatever may be the reason for it, 'Sita' is increasingly being seen by the audience as Kajal's film.

Bellamkonda worked with big directors VV Vinayak and Boyapati Srinu quite early in his career. They projected his macho side unapologetically. However, Teja is different and his heroes are not exactly known for hair-raising heroism.

On the one hand, 'Sita' comes across as a heroine-centric outing. On the other hand, its heroism is expected to be underwhelming.

The audience's verdict will be out on May 24.
