Tamil Nadu is suffering from an extreme water crisis, and in particular, Chennai is facing extreme water scarcity, with people being made to travel for water, pay huge prices to get the water tanker arrive to their areas, besides working professionals being made to work from homes.
While the Madras High court hashit out at the Tamil Nadu government for water mismanagement, the government had called it a manufactured crisis. Following this, actor Siddharth has lashed out at the government for calling it manufactured. He has tweeted " Dear #TamilNadu government, if this #watercrisis is manufactured, then it is you who have helped manufacture it. Request the courts to set up a neutral panel to investigate and reveal why our people are suffering without water. This is our true #irundakaalam. #SaveWater".
He further went on to tweet that it was depressing to see tankers and people wait for water like gas connection. His tweet read "Depressing to see #watertankers in #Chennai. People buy this water at insane prices...Waiting for water like a gas connection. We still can't maintain our water table. The world has left us behind in its efforts to give people the water they deserve. #TamilNadu #WaterCrisis".
