‘Selfie Raja’ revives Pawan-Allu Arjun’s #CheppanuBrother

Have you watched the trailer of Allari Naresh's Selfie Raja?  Why do you think the trailer was so cut in that way?  Of all the comedians that the film boasts of, it's Prudhviraj's 'Cheppanu, brother' with which the trailer ends.  The makers are banking on the #CheppanuBrother controversy that erupted in May.

For the uninitiated, here is what had happened.  When certain Pawan Kalyan's fans repeatedly shouted that Allu Arjun speak about his 'babai' at a Sarrainodu success event, Bunny firmly said with a serious expression, "Cheppanu, brother".  Sections of Power Star's fans took offence to it and trended the hashtag #ChuskuntamBrother when neutral elements on Twitter trended #CheppanuBrother and created jokes on a range of subjects, including 'Why did Katappa kill Baahubali'?.

Selfie Raja now reminds us of the controversy.  While the controversy is familiar to certain sections of the audience, the others don't have an iota of this social media-centred tussle.  Let's see how much of recall value the controversy has.  It will be clear when this film hit the screens.
