Kannada cinema’s veteran superstar Shivarajkumar has firmly stated his stance on entering politics, emphasizing that actors can serve the people effectively without needing political power.
The upcoming film ’45’, starring Shivarajkumar and Upendra, marks the directorial debut of music composer Arjun Janya. Raj B. Shetty plays a key role in the movie, which is scheduled for release on December 25, 2025.
The film’s press meet was held on December 22 (yesterday). During the event, a journalist asked Shivarajkumar: “In Tamil Nadu, from MGR’s era, star actors like Vijayakanth, Sarathkumar, and Vijay have entered politics. Similarly, in Karnataka, why haven’t you and Upendra entered politics? What’s the reason?”
Responding to this, Shivarajkumar said, “I don’t know much about politics. We are already doing whatever we can for the people. We can help anyone we want. To do good for the people, actors don’t need power. Why enter politics for that when we can do good as actors? This is my own money. I help without any discrimination.”
Shivarajkumar’s response has garnered significant appreciation from fans. With anticipation building for ’45’, his comments are widely discussed in Kannada film circles.
