Actor-director Sasikumar has acted in the lead role in director Bala's 'Tharai Thappattai' and the film is expected to hit the screens for Pongal 2016.

After completing the shoot for the tough task master Bala's flick on September 15, Sasikumar started acting in a new film titled as 'Vetrivel' that is being directed by debutante Vasanthamani on September 17, Vinaykar Chathurthi Day in Thanjavur. Mia George and two newcomers act as heroines in this film.

The shooting of 'Vetrivel' is presently progressing in Dharapuram a locality near Coimbatore. Sources reveal that the shooting will be wrapped up within the end of December.

Meanwhile Sasikumar amid his shooting schedule, has been sending truckloads of vegetables for Chennai rain and flood victims from Coimbatore.
