Sarkar case: Out-of-court compromise takes place

The plagiarism case over Sarkar's story, filed against A.R. Murugadoss by Varun Rajendran, came up for hearing today at the Madras High Court. It was adjourned as both parties opted for a compromise. When the proceedings resumed, it was announced that the case has been settled out of court.

Sources reveal that Varun Rajendran will now get a thanks card in the opening credits for story and an undisclosed sum of money too has been paid to him. It may be recalled that Varun demanded Rs 30 lakh as compensation.

AR Murugadoss had claimed two days before that the story's similarities with Varun's story were not significant and whatever was similar, it's purely coincidental. With the latest compromise by Sun Pictures with Varun, Murugadoss's version becomes vulnerable to be questioned by critics.

The film will have a mammoth release on November 6 in 2500 screens worldwide in Tamil and Telugu.
