Sai Kumar’s recently unveiled poster from Sony LIV’s upcoming series “Mayasabha” has sparked a frenzy of speculation among Telugu audiences. On the occasion of his birthday, the makers dropped the new look, showing the senior actor in a bold and charismatic back pose, leading many to wonder if he’s portraying N.T. Rama Rao in the upcoming political drama.
Sharing the poster, the show’s creator Deva Katta tweeted, “After Prasthanam and Autonagar Surya, it was an absolute joy working with you for the third time in #Mayasabha, dear #Saikumar gaaru. As a fan, I wholeheartedly wish you a long life filled with joy, good health, and many more roles that you love. Whatever role you played here — YOU ABSOLUTELY ROCKED IT!!!! Telugu audiences will once again witness your majestic performance on 7th August! #HBDSaikumar #MayasabhaOn7thAugust.”
The teaser for Mayasabha, released earlier this month, had already hinted at strong political undertones. Since then, speculation has been rife that the story mirrors the rivalry between Chandrababu Naidu and Y.S. Rajashekhar Reddy. Now, with Sai Kumar’s dynamic presence revealed, many believe his character might be inspired by NTR.
Still, the director has stressed that Mayasabha is entirely fictional. Deva Katta clarified that the story is an emotional and political coming-of-age narrative set in the backdrop of united Andhra Pradesh from 1975 to 2009.
Featuring Aadi Pinishetty and Chaitanya Rao Madadi in the lead roles, Mayasabha is slated for release on Sony LIV on August 7. Though the series draws inspiration from real events, the makers insist it doesn’t directly represent any real-life personalities. Whether fact or fan fiction, the buzz around Sai Kumar’s role continues to grow louder ahead of the show’s release. Meanwhile, we hear that the trailer of the series will be dropped very soon.
