Robotic actress Erica is lead actress of a $70 million sci-fi flick

The world’s first robotic actress is in the news for becoming the lead actress of a costly science-fiction movie.  Her name is Erica.  Covid-19 can’t touch Erica and is there anything else that you can expect from an actor?

According to Hollywood Reporter, a portion of the film titled ‘B’ has been shot in Japan in 2019 and the rest of the portions will resume in June next year. The robot, created by Japanese scientists Hiroshi Ishiguro and Kohei Ogawa, has been taught method acting in her artificial intelligence programming and she actually plays a robot in the film.

“In other methods of acting, actors involve their own life experiences in the role. But Erica has no life experiences. She was created from scratch to play the role. We had to simulate her motions and emotions through one-on-one sessions, such as controlling the speed of her movements, talking through her feelings and coaching character development and body language,” the film’s producer has been quoted as saying by HR.

The film’s story is about a scientist who discovers dangers associated with a program he created to perfect human DNA and helps the artificially intelligent woman he designed
