At a time when Hyderabad has been logging a high number of Covid-19 cases, traders in some localities have imposed a blanket lockdown on themselves. The voluntary lockdown has been witnessed at Laad Bazaar near the bustling Charminar.
Media reports say that traders in the area opted for a shutdown in view of the high caseload in the city in general and the locality in particular. This will go on till July 3.
“Shops in other markets General Bazaar in Secunderabad, Begum Bazaar and Troop Bazaar will also be shut,” Rishika Sadam, a journalist with News 18 tweeted out on Friday.
Sanitization of shops, etc. has been going on at a brisk pace.
