Release dates of five south Indian movies announced

On a day when Netflix announced the release of 17 Hindi-language films/originals and TV series, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5 and Netflix on Thursday made official the release of five South Indian movies. A couple of them were announced before, while the rest are new announcements.

The Telugu-language film 'Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya', starring Satyadev Kancharana, will release soon on Netflix. The exact date is yet to be finalized. Directed by Venkatesh Maha, it is a comedy-drama remade from a Malayalam movie.

Two movies belong to Kannada. 'Law', a legal thriller starring Ragini Prajwal, will stream from July 17. Directed by Raghu Samarth, it is a crime suspense drama. The other Kannada movie to stream on Amazon will be 'French Biryani'. Directed by Pannaga Bharana, it has Danish Sait and Sal Yusuf as the lead actors. It will stream from July 24. They both will stream on Amazon Prime Video.

The other two films are from Kollywood. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's 'Danny', a cop drama, will stream from August 1. 'Lock Up', starring Venkat Prabhu and Vani Bhojan, will stream from August 14. The two Tamil movies will stream on Zee5.
