Rashmika Effect: 'Pushpa 2' to be banned in key market?

It is known that Rashmika Mandanna has been at the receiving end of a backlash from Kannada movie fans after she recently refused to take the name of a Sandalwood banner that gave her 'Kirik Party', her debut film. The 'Dear Comrade' heroine has been described as a thankless person.
Sections of the Kannada media are speculating that theatre owners and the film industry per se in Karnataka are going to impose a ban on her movies. In other words, Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2' is going to be among the casualties if the ban comes through.
But the earliest casualty could be Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu', the Sankranthi 2023 release.
Everything said it is a big IF. It is not easy to ban a movie without triggering legal battles. The producers of Rashmika's movie will move the court to get the ban lifted. There will also be attempts on the part of the 'Geetha Govindam' actress to strike a peace deal with Sandalwood by issuing an unconditional apology.
