"For some, he was a criminal. For the rest, a hero. This August, let's go back to the 90s and witness the glory of this man!" says the Teaser for 'Ranarangam', in which Sharwanand plays a gangster.

Set in two time periods, the film chronicles the evolution (hopefully) of the man over almost three decades. The 90s scenes feature Kalyani Priyadarshan, with whom the hero, who is yet to become a fearsome beast, falls in love. The contemporary scenes feature Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead.

"It takes devotion to have faith in God. But it takes strength to have faith in men," says Sharwa's character, suggesting that he might be a victim of backstabbing.

Writer-director Sudheer Varma is ably assisted by a team of efficient technicians, ranging from musician Prashant Pillai and cinematographer Divakar Mani. Raveender's production design, Renganaath Ravee's sound design, and Arjun-Carthyk's dialogues are expected to be top-notch.

Produced by Sithara Entertainments, the entertainer will hit the screens on August 2.
