India's most celebrated filmmaker the world over, Maniratnam is busy with his Kaatru Veliyidai` starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead. The shooting is expected to be completed by the end of this year and will release in early 2017.

Meanwhile, we hear from reliable sources that Maniratnam`s next after Kaatru Veliyidai` will be a Tamil/Telugu bilingual that will have Ram Charan Teja as the hero.

It may be recalled that Sivakumar's son Suriya made his debut in Nerukku Ner` produced by Maniratnam. Similarly, in recent years veteran superstars Karthick and Mammootty`s sons Gautham Karthick and Dulquer Salman made their Tamil debuts in Kadal` and Ok Kanmani` respectively. Looks like it is megastar Chiranjeevi`s son Ram Charan`s turn to make his Tamil debut under Maniratnam`s direction. Official announcement is expected in the following months.
