Ram Charan cancels Acharya shooting!

The ongoing schedule of Acharya has been called off abruptly on Saturday. The decision comes after actor Ram Charan, who plays a cameo in the film, decided to stand by the side of his paternal uncle and actor Pawan Kalyan, who has tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Sources say Ram Charan along with his wife Upasna Kamineni Konidela has been taking care of the medical facilities at Pawan Kalyan's farmhouse and are closely monitoring the health of the actor-turned-politician.

"Charan is expected to join the sets only after Pawan Kalyan recovers from COVID-19. He is constantly in touch with the doctors, who are treating his uncle and is providing all the medical care from Apollo hospitals. He was accompanied by his wife Upsna Kamineni Konidela," the source adds.

Directed by Koratala Siva, the shooting of Acharya is nearing completion. The team has been filming an action sequence and a montage song on Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde in this schedule. Earlier today, Sonu Sood, who plays the antagonist of the film, has tested positive for Covid-19.

Chiranjeevi, who plays the titular role, has also agreed to defer the shoot owing to the sudden spike in Covid-19 cases. Also featuring Kajal Aggarwal, Tanikella Bharani and Ajay, Acharya is being produced by Niranjan Reddy in association with Ram Charan. The film is slated to release in the second half of 2021. Acharya has music by Mani Sharma.
