Veteran actress Radha penned a heartfelt note to the Late actress Silk Smith on her death anniversary. She recalled the days they worked together and also praised her for her talents and evergreen beauty.
Vijayalakshmi Vadlapatla better known by her stage name Silk Smitha, was an actress and dancer who worked predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. Smitha was part of several successful dance numbers in the 1980s Indian films.
Though she entered the film industry as a supporting actress she rose to success with her unique talent and beauty. In a career spanning 17 years, she appeared in over 450 films in all major languages.
Actress Radha who shares screen space with Silk in her first movie took to her social media account to share some pictures of Silk Smitha and wrote, " Remembering Silk Smitha on her Death anniversary. She played my sister in law in my first movie. That time I only knew her as a well-performing actress who performed emotional characters just as well as she did glamour." She also added, " She never needed makeup to look graceful in sari and perform soulful characters. Feel sad to have lost such an artist at her early stage."
Actress Silk Smitha was believed to be an introvert with strong willpower and straightforwardness. She is also described as having a "soft" and "child-like" personality by her friends and fans. She was skilled with makeup and made it her profession before entering the industry. She died in the year 1996 by committing suicide.
She never needed makeup to look graceful in sari and perform soulful characters. Feel sad to have lost such an artist at her early stage.
