Tamil cinema and politics have remained under intense public scrutiny ever since actor-turned-politician Vijay entered the political arena. Over the past few months, social media has been flooded with speculation linking Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan, with several reports claiming that the two were in a relationship.
The duo has shared screen space in blockbuster films such as Ghilli, Leo, and GOAT. Rumors about their alleged relationship gained momentum earlier this year when reports surfaced suggesting that Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha, had filed for divorce. Although social media and entertainment portals extensively discussed the matter, neither Vijay nor Trisha has ever addressed these claims publicly.
Now, fresh rumors are making headlines, with netizens speculating that Vijay and Trisha may have parted ways. The latest buzz began after fans noticed that Trisha had unfollowed Vijay on social media.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Trisha did not post a birthday message for Vijay on June 22, when the actor-politician celebrated his 52nd birthday. Since this marked Vijay’s first birthday after becoming the Chief Minister, many fans expected Trisha to extend her wishes publicly. In previous years, she had shared rare photographs with Vijay and posted heartfelt birthday messages, making this year’s silence particularly noticeable.
Fans were quick to point out that Trisha no longer follows Vijay on Instagram, leading to widespread discussions online about whether there could be differences between the two. However, there has been no official confirmation from either side regarding the rumors.
On the professional front, Trisha was recently seen opposite Suriya in Karuppu. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film emerged as a major box-office success and received positive reviews from critics. Interestingly, RJ Balaji also played the antagonist in the movie.
Meanwhile, Vijay has shifted his primary focus to politics and is awaiting the release of his much-delayed final film, Jana Nayagan. Directed by H. Vinoth, the action drama has been surrounded by controversies since last December. The film is yet to receive certification from the CBFC, adding further uncertainty to its release plans.
