Pratik Gandhi vs Arshad Warsi: ‘Ghamasaan’ Trailer Unveils a Gritty Battle of Power and Survival

ZEE5, Jio Studios and Golden Ratio Films have unveiled the gripping trailer of ‘Ghamasaan’, an intense Hindi-language drama that promises a raw and uncompromising story rooted in the heartland. Starring Pratik Gandhi, Arshad Warsi and Ishita Dutta in pivotal roles, the series is set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on September 11.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, ‘Ghamasaan’ ventures into a morally complex world where power, politics, loyalty and survival collide. Set against the backdrop of the Hindi heartland, the trailer introduces two formidable characters — Arshad Warsi’s Maharaj and Pratik Gandhi’s Aditya whose paths are destined to collide.

At the heart of the story is a relentless pursuit that goes far beyond a conventional cop-versus-criminal narrative. Aditya is determined to bring Maharaj to justice, but as the chase intensifies, he discovers that he is not merely pursuing an individual. He is up against an entire ecosystem built around power, influence, loyalty and survival.

The trailer establishes Maharaj as a dangerous and unpredictable force, while Aditya emerges as a determined man driven by an unwavering sense of justice. Their confrontation forms the core of the narrative, with the series exploring the blurred boundaries between right and wrong.

For Arshad Warsi, the role of Maharaj marks a striking departure from his familiar screen image. The actor steps into a darker and more unpredictable character, bringing a menacing intensity to the part. Pratik Gandhi, meanwhile, portrays Aditya as a fearless and determined figure whose pursuit gradually reveals the larger system he is fighting against.

Tigmanshu Dhulia’s signature storytelling style is evident throughout the trailer, with the filmmaker once again delving into the complexities of the Hindi heartland and its people. Rather than presenting straightforward heroes and villains, ‘Ghamasaan’ appears to operate in shades of grey, giving its characters layered motivations and conflicting ideas of justice and power.

The series has already made its presence felt on the festival circuit, having travelled to prestigious platforms including the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, Cinevesture International Film Festival and Chicago South Asian Film Festival.

‘Ghamasaan’ is produced by Jyoti Deshpande (Jio Studios), Piiyush Singh, Abhayanand Singh, Saurabh Gupta and Ashwini Chaudhary (Golden Ratio Films), and Miten Shah (Yaelstar Films).

With its grounded setting, powerful performances and a high-stakes conflict at its centre, ‘Ghamasaan’ promises an intense viewing experience that challenges conventional notions of justice and power. The series premieres exclusively on ZEE5 on September 11
