Prakash Raj has resigned from MAA's primary membership on the grounds that regionalist sentiments have won. He was described as a non-Telugu by his rival, Manchu Vishnu, before the October 10th elections.

"I accept the verdict. I will always act in Telugu movies but I won't be a member of MAA any longer. I am not saying this out of pain. I respect the verdict of MAA members. Mohan Babu garu, Kota Srinivas Rao garu and Ravi Babu have opined that I am a mere guest here. So, I will be a mere guest. BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar garu has congratulated Manchu Vishnu for making regionalist sentiments victorious. I have been a member of MAA for 21 years. From today, I am no longer one," Prakash Raj said.
"I don't think the members voted against me because of Naga Babu garu's statements or something. It was a vote against me," Prakash Raj opined.
The senior actor said that he will continue to work for the good of his fellow artists in his personal capacity. "Manchu Vishnu garu has not said that non-Telugus can't act in Telugu movies," he said in reply to another question.
