Harshith Reddy, a self-proclaimed fanboy of Prabhas, recently shared his incredible journey from admirer to co-star in the epic sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD.
It all began with a simple mail to Swapna Dutt's production house. Aswini Dutt, impressed with his enthusiasm, invited him home and revealed the possibility of a role in Kalki. Swapna saw his potential and advocated for him to Nag Ashwin, the visionary director.
A few months later, the dream became reality when Nag Ashwin's team contacted Harshith. "I was in disbelief," he confessed, "It felt surreal, like a dream!"
Stepping onto the Kalki sets, Harshith was overwhelmed by the grandeur and futuristic elements. The experience was unparalleled, unlike anything he had witnessed in Telugu cinema. He fondly remembers the opulent Kashi set erected in Shankarapalli, where he shot for over three weeks.
"It was a blessing in disguise," he said, reflecting on his time on the project. While initially nervous about sharing the screen with legends like Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan, his excitement outweighed his apprehension.
He couldn't help but be mesmerized by Prabhas's presence on set. "I couldn't take my eyes off him," Harshith admitted, "It was an incredible opportunity to share screen space with someone I admire so much."
Though he didn't engage in personal conversations with Prabhas, he was impressed by his professionalism and dedication. "He would grasp the scene instantly and deliver it flawlessly," Harshith described.
He also praised Nag Ashwin's calm demeanor and ability to make everyone feel comfortable. However, he was disappointed to miss an encounter with Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.
Harshith's experience with "Bujji," the futuristic car in the film, was a mixed bag. "Bujji was quite a handful," he said, "Not the most comfortable mode of transportation." He added ' Bujji used to trouble me a lot"
This journey from fan to co-star is a testament to Harshith's passion and persistence. His experience on Kalki 2898 AD is a story of dreams realized and a testament to the magic of cinema.
