Legendary director Mani Ratnam’s dream project ‘Ponniyin Selvan shooting is going on at a brisk pace. The team completed the long schedule in Hyderabad recently and is now heading to a city known for its architectural wonders like palaces and temples.

According to reports, the team is all set to begin shooting in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. This undiscovered beauty of India is a hot destination for Bollywood stars and filmmakers. This place is known for its massive and beautiful forts, temples and palaces built during the 16th century.

Directer Manirathnam was spotted in Gwalior airport recently along with Prakashraj and Karthi. These pictures are doing the rounds on the internet. Prakash Raj has reportedly joined the team after undergoing minor surgery.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is about the Chola Empire and it is the adaptation of the historical novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy of the same name. This film features Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar in lead roles. While AR Rahman is roped in for music, the film is produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
