In the trailer for 'Pehlwaan', the lead man 'Kichcha' Sudeep has one key purpose: to flex his high-thinking character more than muscles. The lines heard throughout the trailer elevate him and project him as the strongest inside out.

Written and directed by Sandalwood director Krishna, the film casts the hero as a kusthi fighter whose grit and determination take him to the international stage. Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty is cast as his big brother (?). Also featuring Aakanksha Singh and Sushant Singh, among others, the film has music by Arjun Janya.

For the looks of it, the film looks grand (going by the trailer). Due props to Karunakar A's cinematography. The Kushti fights are by A Vijay, while the boxing scenes are by Larnell Stovall. Stunts are by Ram, Laxman and K Raviverma. With screenplay by Krishna, DS Kannan and Madhoo, the film has lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry. Hanumaan Chowdhary has penned the dialogues for the Telugu version.

The film releases on September 12.
