Parthiban resigned as the Vice President of the Tamil Film Producers Council even as the Ilayaraja 75 show was underway on Saturday with him also being one of the key members of the organizing committee. Being an ardent Ilayaraja fan the actor-director-producer was expected to come out with out of the box ideas for the show to make it more interesting.
Though Parthiban has told media that he will disclose the reasons for his sudden quitting, it is said that his novel ideas for Ilayaraja were turned down by the TFPC and he is also not pleased by the functioning of the board. It may be recalled that he was nominated for the post after Gautham Menon and Prakash Raj stepped down suddenly.
In his social media post, Parthiban has stated in Tamil "When self respect takes a beating livelihood does not matter". Vishal in Whatsapp message has shared how much he missed the senior entertainer in the event and Parthiban has acknowledged it. Industry insiders are of the opinion that in the coming days there will be more allegations on the Council office bearers from his quarters too.
