In a moment of national recognition, the President of India has approved 131 Padma Awards for 2026, honouring individuals for their exceptional contributions across a wide range of fields. Announced on the occasion of Republic Day, the list includes 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awards, as confirmed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The 2026 Padma Awards showcase a diverse and inclusive selection, featuring 19 women awardees, 6 foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI recipients, and 16 posthumous honours. These prestigious civilian awards recognise distinguished service in areas such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, medicine, literature, education, sports, and civil service. The awards will be formally presented at Rashtrapati Bhavan during ceremonies scheduled for March–April 2026.
