A peculiar incident happened during the making of ‘Maya Bazaar’, the classic. Director KV Reddy filmed a panning shot of NT Rama Rao and Gummadi in one of the songs. As the two actors sat next to each other, KV Reddy couldn’t but notice the resemblances between them. The director told NTR and Gummadi that they looked like brothers, especially going by how their noses looked.
Musicologist Raja tells IndiaGlitz that he was reminded of that incident (as narrated to him by Gummadi himself) when he watched the trailer for ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’. P Vijay Kumar plays NTR in this movie. As per Raja, the new actor looks just like Gummadi.
“We are not used to watching Gummadi without his mustache. But Gummadi sans the mustache looked more like the actor who has played NTR in Ram Gopal Varma’s movie,” Raja says.
