The nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards, Hollywood’s most prestigious honors, were recently announced. Ryan Coogler’s film ‘Sinners’ has made history by securing a total of 16 nominations, becoming the most-nominated film in Oscar history.

Previously, the record for the most nominations was 14, shared by Titanic, La La Land, and All About Eve. Sinners has now officially surpassed that milestone.

The film dominates across both artistic and technical categories:

Best Picture

Best Director: Ryan Coogler

Best Actor: Michael B. Jordan (notably his first-ever Oscar nomination)

Best Supporting Actor: Delroy Lindo

Best Supporting Actress: Wunmi Mosaku

Technical Categories: Best Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Original Score (Ludwig Göransson), Costume Design, and Visual Effects, among others.

Set against the backdrop of 1930s Mississippi, the film combines themes of racism with a supernatural vampire thriller element, earning widespread critical acclaim. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see how many trophies Sinners will take home on the big night.

Note: The 98th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 15, 2026.
