Recently, director and screenplay writer Visu had alleged that Kavithalaya Productions has been selling remake rights of movies which had him involved, without his consent, and had said that if the production house sells the remake rights of Netrikann to Dhanush, Dhanush must also get the consent from him.
Now Kavithalaya has responded to the accusation made by Visu. The production house has issued a press release where they have stated that they have always been careful to recognize works and the rights of the individuals when dealing with remakes, and that Kavithalaya is the sole owner of Netrikann rights.
Kavithalaya's press release also further states that Visu's statement that he was not compensated as the writer for licensing the remake rights of Netrikann and accusing Kavithalaya of various infringements comes without any merits and that he has not verified any official facts. Kavithalaya further has said that they have not assigned the remake rights of Netrikann to any third party and have only given the right to use the title, to a third party. Kavithalaya has also denied their connection in the case initiated by Visu in respect to the film Thillu Mullu.
