C. Prior to the assembly elections, MLCs C. Ramachandraiah and Sheikh Mohammad Iqbal left the YSRCP to join the TDP. Ramachandraiah faced disqualification, while Iqbal voluntarily resigned from his MLC position, necessitating the by-elections for the two seats.

The JSP, having triumphed in all 21 Assembly and two Lok Sabha seats it contested in the recent elections, in alliance with the TDP and BJP under the NDA banner, is now set to enter the legislative council. P. Hariprasad, the JSP's political secretary, has been nominated as the party's MLC candidate, while senior TDP leader C. Ramachandraiah will be nominated to the Council for a second time.

The two MLC seats became vacant following the disqualification of Ramachandraiah and the resignation of former IPS officer Shaik Mohd Iqbal, both of whom were previously nominated under the MLA quota by the YSRCP. Their terms were set to end on March 29, 2027. Prior to the elections, Ramachandraiah distanced himself from the YSRCP and joined the TDP, leading to the YSRCP filing a disqualification petition against him.
