Public angry after Cops let thieves free!

Public had caught two thieves who were indulging in pickpocket and petty thefts on a regular basis in Vadassery Bus stand in Nagarkovil, and attacked the thieves and handed them over to the police, only to be left free by the cops, leading to public turning angry against cops.
Kanyakumari district's Vadasserry bus stand is one of the busiest bus stands with more than 1000 people commuting buses, and two thieves who made use of this situation had been involving in thefts regularly in the crowds. Luckily, people were able to join hands and nab them when they were involved in a theft, and caught red handed.
The thieves were accused of stealing 30000 rupees, and as one of the persons from among the public supported the thieves, there was chaos and violence erupted as arguments turned into physical violence and the incident was reported to police. As the public handed over the thieves to police, they said that since they were drunk, they can't be arrested and left them free, angering public who claimed that as such thieves are left free by police themselves, thefts will increase.
