MUST READ: The rare Rajamouli speak

During the special Maha Shivaratri interview given to star anchor Suma, SS Rajamouli has said that the first edition of 'Baahubali' was only like starters! "The second part is the actual meals. In 'The Beginning', we only introduced the characters, what they are like. The story is yet to be told and it will be told in the 'The Conclusion. It will be high on emotions and more dramatic," the master filmmaker promises.
Putting a full-stop to the rumours doing the rounds about the possibility of there being a third edition, Rajamouli says, "The story will come to an end with the second part. However, the characters will continue to exist. The characters' stories are not limited to what is seen in these two films. For example, there is a vast story of how Sivagami became a powerful Rajamatha. The film started with she being already one. But we have thought through the backstory as well. And these stories are not documentary-type, but dramatic ones. There will be TV series, animation games, graphic novels, etc," he says.
We may equate Baahubali with Rajamouli, but the director says, "It's through the actors that a story finds its reach. If you asked the common man 'Who is Baahubali?' he would say, 'Prabhas'. It's the actor who owns a character, both mentally and physically."
"When you are explaining a scene to Prabhas, you have to talk about what the scene that is to be shot is, what happens before that, etc. He needs to be narrated the entire basement. You don't have to enact. He internalizes the narration and gives the output. It's enough if you tell Ramya Krishna garu the dialogue once she is at the location. Sweety (Anushka) asks the director to enact once," Rajamouli reveals, talking about the ways in which his actors approach their roles.
The audience's expectations from 'The Conclusion' are skyrocketing. "The confrontation war between Baahubali and Bhallaladeva will be the father of all action episodes," he says in quite a cinematic (or should we say Baahubalian?) language.
Saying that most of Anushka's portions were shot during the shoot of the first part itself, the Padma Sri awardee says that she couldn't come down in weight after 'Size Zero' and which is why she will look a bit fatter in a couple of scenes. "There are a few shots in which she will not be seen as slim as she was seen in the first part. It's normal," he says.
MM Keeravani's tunes are promised to be more catchy.
The Kalakeyas will be there in the second part, but they don't have an important place.
Once done with the post-production and its promotions, Rajamouli will take some time off and go on a vacation. No, he is not going to adapt the great epic Mahabharatham. "All that I had said is that I want to make a film on it. Since we don't know how technology will be like, say, ten years down the line, I don't have a clue about when I am going to start it. But they (media) ignored all that and claimed that Rajamouli is going to adapt Mahabharatham after 'Baahubali'," he says.
As a story-teller who wants to reach out to a wider section of audience, he is happy that his magnum opus has become national cinema. "It's Indian cinema," he says with a sense of satisfaction.
Assuring that the Trailer will be out around mid-March, Rajamouli says that there is a catch in revealing the date. "The VFX team working on the Trailer will not give us the output until 2-3 days before the release date, if we announce the date," he laughs.
