A murder that happened in the woods of Vikarabad had raised an alarm in the district and the city as well. VIkarabad police arrested a man after he allegedly killed his wife and later set her body a blaze before dumping it in the Anatagiri forest area.

The murder actually took place on November 5 but took time to come to light and it finally happened on Tuesday. After committing the murder, the accused, Prabhu, went to the poice and had lodged a complaint saying that his wife, Santoshi, 29, is missing for a few days now. And when finally, the locals and police cornered Prabhu, he confessed that he had killed her.

During the investigation, it came to light that Prabhu is an alcoholic and used to fight with his wife as she used to take objection to his drinking habit. On November 5, the couple, apparently, had an argument following which Prabhu beat Santoshi to death. Later, he brought her body outside the house and set it ablaze, and dumped the body in the forest.

He was arrested under Section 302 (murder) of IPC.
