For those who are grumbling about the high price for ticket rates in cinema halls here is some good news. The GST on cinema tickets has been reduced from 18 percent to 12 percent for rates below rupees 100 and from 28 percent to 18 percent on tickets priced above rupees 100.
It is, however, unknown whether the cinema theater owners will pass on the benefit to the customer or will continue with their current pricing. Voices on social media can be heard about the high rates of eatables and the parking fees in cinema halls which also should be brought down.
