Deverakonda to play iconic cricketer’s role

Is Vijay Deverakonda’s Hindi debut happening soon?  Yes, if some media reports are to be believed.  

Bollywood director Kabir Khan is going to make a sports film titled ’83’ on India’s Cricket World Cup victory in the year 1983.  Ranveer Singh of ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Simmba’ plays Kapil Dev, the skipper, in this one.

And, as per unconfirmed reports, the ‘Geetha Govindam’ and ‘Taxiwaala’ actor will essay the role of Krishnamachari Srikanth, the iconic cricketer, in this film.  Will this be a full-fledged role or an extended cameo?  

The film’s director has done extensive and intensive research on the World Cup series as part of pre-production works.  He has spoken to people from that era and read every report published on the unforgettable series.
