Meena Likely to Join BJP Ahead of 2026 Elections?

Popular South Indian actress Meena, known for her iconic roles from Chanti to the Drishyam franchise, is now in the spotlight for her possible political debut. According to Tamil media reports, the 48-year-old actress is in talks to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The speculation gained traction after Meena recently met with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, raising eyebrows among political observers. Though she has never openly voiced political ambitions before, her entry could mirror the familiar transition of many Tamil cinema stars into politics.

If Meena steps into the political arena, she would join fellow actress Khushbu Sundar, who is already a part of the BJP in Tamil Nadu. This comes at a time when actor Thalapathy Vijay has also launched his own political party.

Meena, who began her acting journey as a child artist, became a leading actress across multiple film industries. She is also a mother to a teenage daughter and continues to stay in the public eye despite personal challenges, including the loss of her husband, Sagar.

Amid previous rumors linking her to a second marriage and actor Dhanush, Meena had firmly denied such claims. Her current political move, if confirmed, would mark a significant new chapter in her illustrious career.
