Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey has apparently made some personal revelations in his upcoming memoir 'Greenlights.' In the book, he had mentioned that his mother, Mary Kathleen (Kay) McConaughey, had called him in 1992 to inform him of his father James Donald McConaughey's passing.
An excerpt from the book which was recently published in People magazine revealed that Matthew McConaughey's father had died of a heart attack while having sex with his mother. Matthew had written, "I got a call from my Mom. 'Your dad died.' My knees buckled. I couldn't believe it. He was my dad. Nobody or nothing could kill him. Except for mom. He had always told me and my brothers, 'Boys, when I go, I'm gonna be makin' love to your mother.' And that's what happened. He had a heart attack when he climaxed." James McConaughey, who had died in 1992, had an on-and-off relationship with Kay and married her on three separate occasions. Kay gave birth to Matthew shortly after the couple's third wedding. "They were, at times, violent. As I say in the book, that is how they communicated. They were divorced twice, married three times, I mean, yeah, it was like the Pacific Ocean in a storm," Matthew added.
Matthew McConaughey, who is famous for his role as the lead actor in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, has won numerous accolades, including an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ron Woodroof, a cowboy diagnosed with AIDS, in the 2013 biopic Dallas Buyers Club. His role as Rust Cohle in the first season of HBO's crime anthology series 'True Detective,' earned him a nomination for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
