Young Kollywood actor Arjun Das, who delivered a critically-acclaimed performance in 'Master' this year, has announced his Telugu-language debut. Earlier today, the Telugu remake of 'Kappela' (Malayalam) was launched with Siddhu Jonnalagadda as the other main lead.
The Tollywood debut of Arjun Das comes at a time when his stock is growing in Kollywood. It was in 2012 that the actor debuted in a Tamil movie. Karthi-starrer 'Kaithi' ('Khaidi' in Telugu) cast him in the role of a cocaine addict gang leader in 2019. The performance was lauded by the audience. In Thalapathy Vijay's 'Master', Arjun Das was once again at his usual best. While not much is written about 'Andhagaaram' (streaming on Netflix), his performance in the dark thriller was superb.
An ex-banker in Dubai, he has thinned down a lot over the years. Most recently, the actor took the 11th spot on Chennai Times Most Desirable Men 2020 list.
As for his Telugu debut, it is directed by newcomer Shourie Chandrashekhar T Ramesh. Sithara Entertainments is going to produce it. To be shot from August, it has music by Sweekar Agasthi.
