West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday wrote a letter to 10 Opposition leaders, calling for a united and concerted struggle against the BJP's alleged attacks on the Constitution and democracy.
Her letter has been addressed to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, among others. Interestingly, she hasn't written to TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu, with whom she shared a good rapport before 2019.
NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, DMK chief MK Stalin, RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav, Shiv Sena chief and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, AAP supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and BJD chief and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik also received her letter.
The letter states, "I strongly believe that the time has come for a united and effective struggle against BJP's attacks on democracy."
Mamata Banerjee, whose TMC is facing a tough battle in Bengal Assembly elections, talks about a 7-step effort to fight the BJP after the current round of Assembly elections.
