The Madanapalle incident in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district has come as a shocker. On Sunday night, a middle-aged woman named V Padmaja bludgeoned her daughters (aged 22 and 27) to death based on a superstitious ritual. There are reports that she is mentally unstable. A gold medallist in Mathematics, she teaches IIT aspirants. Her husband, who too is in police custody like her, is the Principal of a college.
A video clip in which Padmaja is seen refusing to undergo a covid-19 test is doing the rounds. She is heard screaming that coronavirus had emerged from her and not China. “Without the use of a vaccine, the virus will come to an end in March. All pharma companies are going to get shut down,” she says.
She is also heard describing herself as Lord Shiva. It’s not clear whether the woman is in a state of mental shock after killing her daughters with dumbbells. There are suspicions that she may well be a victim of black magic.
