Tamil directors have a history of making successful forays into Bollywood, beginning with K. Balachander's 1981 blockbuster "Ek Duuje Ke Liye". Filmmakers like Gautham Menon and A.R. Murugadoss have also found success in Hindi cinema by remaking their Tamil hits. Recently, Atlee's "Jawan", starring Shah Rukh Khan, became a massive success, grossing over ₹1000 crore at the box office.
Now, the latest buzz is that director Lokesh Kanagaraj might be the next Tamil filmmaker to enter Bollywood. Reports suggest that Lokesh is in discussions with Aamir Khan for a new film, which is expected to be produced by Mythri Movie Makers. While some sources indicate that Lokesh will start working on the Aamir Khan project after completing "Coolie", others believe it will only commence after "Coolie" and "Kaithi 2".
This news has quickly gained traction online, sparking excitement among fans. Speculation is also rife that Lokesh might extend his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) to Bollywood through this collaboration with Aamir Khan. However, an official announcement is yet to be made. Currently, Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy shooting "Coolie", starring Superstar Rajinikanth, and produced by Sun Pictures.
