Lokesh Kanagaraj who has directed just five films 'Maanagaram', 'Kaithi', 'Master', 'Vikram and 'Leo' has raced to the top as the most sought after filmmakers in the country. He is currently involved in the postproduction of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' which is releasing on October 19th.

It is more or less confirmed that Lokesh is next directing Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 171' which will go on floors after Rajini completes his current project 'Thalaivar 170' directed by T.J Gnanavel.

The hot buzz in the film industry now is that Lokesh Kanagaraj has apparently been offerred a remuneration of Rs 60 crores for 'Thalaivar 171'. Earlier it was said that Atlee who is now the highest paid Tamil director has received Rs. 50 Crores for his next after Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'.
