‘Lal Salaam’ Set for OTT Release a Day After ‘Thug Life’ – Updated Version to Include Lost Footage

While Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited film Thug Life is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on June 5, an interesting development has emerged around Rajinikanth’s film Lal Salaam. The film is now scheduled to release on OTT platforms on June 6, just a day after Thug Life hits theaters.
Lal Salaam, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, had its theatrical release in February 2024 but underperformed at the box office. Reports later revealed that a hard disk containing key scenes had gone missing, resulting in an incomplete version of the film being released in cinemas.
However, the missing hard disk was recovered a few months ago, prompting speculation about a possible updated release. That speculation is now confirmed, with the film set to stream in a re-edited version that includes the previously missing content.
The OTT release will mark a second chance for Lal Salaam, now presented in its intended form. With Rajinikanth’s special appearance and Aishwarya Rajinikanth at the helm, fans are eager to see whether the revised version will win over audiences this time around.
