A we had reported earlier, Director K.V.Anand's 'Kavan' is expected to hit the screens by last week of March 2017. The film's shooting started early last year and the team has now completed shooting and also the editing.
It has been revealed that currently the re-recording process by music director Hip Hop Tamizha is going on. The music album of the film has been released today (February 12).
Anand said that the film will be sent for Censor certification process by first week of March and the official announcement on the release date will come from producer AGS Entertainment.
First speaking about the interesting title, Anand said "'Kavan' means catapult. In dialogues we can use only colloquial Tamil. Hence I have always wanted to use chaste Tamil at least in title right from my first film and the title is suitable to the story too".
Speaking about the film, he said "The film's plot is somewhat akin to the victory of David over Goliath. According to mythology,a young chap David wins Goliath the huge evil with a catapult. Kavan means catapult. Likewise 'Kavan' is the story of a common man who wins over a mammoth criminal network. I wanted a hero with a common man image and that's why I chose Vijay Sethupathi to play this role."
When asked about Vijay Sethupathi works as an IT employee, the 'Ko' director also revealed that the film deals with a crime related to Corporate world but it also talks about a lot other things. "The film's story will have a connect with even a six year old as it deals with a universal issue."
'Kavan' stars Vijay Sethupathi, and Madonna Sebastian in lead roles and the duo have teamed up after the critically acclaimed 'Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum'. Veteran actor-director T.Rajendhar has played an important role in the film. Akash Deep Saigal of 'Ayan' fame is playing the lead villain in the film. But Anand says there are a lot other villains..
"There is Vikranth and Bose Venkat. Madonna and TR sir and even Vijay Sethupathi may have negative shades too. Even these people do wrong things in the film." Anand adds.
He however confirmed that TR plays character role with a lot of scope for comedy and Madonna will get claps from the audience in certain portions of the film for her performance.
Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi has given five songs and one among them is a blend of three poems of Mahakavi Bharathiyar. Debutant Abhinandan Ramanujam who worked as Richar M.Nathan's Assistant in K.V.Anand's 2011 blockbuster 'Ko' has been promoted as a cinematographer with this film. Editor Antony is the only regular in Anand's films who has been retained in 'Kavan' too.
'Kavan' has been produced on a grand scale by Kalpathi S.Aghoram, Kalpathi S.Ganesh and Kalpathi S.Suresh.
